Marisa Santos

Coordinator of the Innovation Area of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice. Professor of the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). She began her professional activity as an associate professor at the University of Almería in 1995 until in 2003 she acceded to the University’s Main Square. In 2008 she moved with the same category to the Autonomous University of Madrid (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education / Department of Physical Education, Sports and Human Motricity).

Licensed by the INEF of León and PhD in Physical Education from the University of Valladolid (Curriculum Design and Educational Evaluation Program). Her doctoral thesis focused on “Physical Activities in the Natural Environment from the school environment.” Her professional work has been oriented in the educational field, more specifically in the one related to teaching and evaluation (curriculum, active methodologies _ Learning-Service_ and formative evaluation); as well as in the development of a pedagogical model for the development of Physical Activities in the Natural Environment in different contexts (education, leisure, health).

Graduated in Social Education from the UNED (2017). She has been IP in the R&D call (2001-2005), with a project entitled “Assessment, promotion and intervention for sustainable active tourism in the Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar (Almería)”. Currently, her research activity is related to formative evaluation and active methodologies, as well as in the field of Physical Activities in the Natural Environment and Service Learning. She is part of the Formative Evaluation Network since 2005 and of the Physical Education Network in Nature since 2016. Since 2017, she participates in the University Network of Service-Learning and recently of the Service-Learning Association. She has participated in R + D + i projects of the 2001, 2008 and 2013 calls.

She is the coordinator of the UAM Research Group “Teaching and Evaluation of Physical Education and Sports”, developing research projects related to teaching skills and service learning within the university framework. Coordinator of the RIADIS Network (UPB / 19 / UPB of the Higher Sports Council of 2019). She has more than sixty publications (national and international) among magazine articles, book chapters and monographs. Coordinates the Research Network in Learning-Service in Physical Activity and Sports for Social Inclusion of the Higher Sports Council (Call 2019). In the field of university management she has held from 2014 to 2019 the position of Director of the Department of Physical Education, Sports and Human Motricity. She participates as an external evaluator in different international and national journals, and in different scientific committees. In addition, she has been an ANEP evaluator since 2015. Evaluator at the Andalusian Knowledge Agency (DEVA).
