CEIPAZ awarded by the Government of Navarra for its work for peace and coexistence
The Government of Navarra, together with the director of Peace, Coexistence and Human Rights Martin Zabalza Arregui have awarded the Center for Education and Research for Peace (CEIPAZ) and its director, Manuela Mesa, for their more than ten years in the field of the culture of peace and non-violence.
Since 2016, the Regional Government celebrates the International Day of Peace with an act in which a person or entity is recognized for their remarkable work in the field of peace and coexistence.
Some of the personalities awarded in previous editions include Federico Mayor Zaragoza, president of the Culture of Peace Foundation; the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF); or Stasa Zajovic, a Serbian activist, among others. On this occasion the price will be picked by Manuela Mesa in Pamplona on September 21.
Thus, the Government of the Autonomous Community of Navarra recognizes the work of CEIPAZ in the development of educational and informative projects, among which we can highlight its latest campaign “Sumamos y Proponemos”, a project that has seen the crisis situation derived from the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity to reorient social priorities and focus on all those essential tasks for life: the right to public education, art and culture, an economy of solidarity, protection of the environment, interdependence and dialogue.
