Call for papers for vol 11 (1) of the International Journal of Education for Social Justice on "Education in Indigenous Context for Social Justice"

A call is made for the reception of articles for volume 11 number 1, which will be published in June 2022, of the International Journal of Education for Social Justice on “Art Education for Social Justice.”

The number is coordinated by Silvia Castillo (Silva Henríquez Catholic University, Chile) and Miguel Del Pino (Catholic University of Maule, Chile).

Particularly, in the following volume, rather than conducting theoretical reviews, it is interesting to show empirical research papers and educational experiences in an indigenous context, and to review how local, linguistic, cultural, territorial and social knowledge has been recovered, from a properly indigenous epistemology. Thus, it is expected to give an account of “other forms” of research, far from extractive perspectives. Along with this, it is also sought that the works provide tools for thinking about Social Justice in education in an indigenous context.

In this way, we are invited to participate in this issue with the conviction that the complexity of the present forces an effort to recover and synthesize various traditions, as well as an invention effort that not only allows us to contribute with a critical knowledge to clarify problems, but also with the aspiration that this knowledge becomes an emancipatory practice.

The deadline for the delivery of the originals is November 1, 2021.
