Pilar Aramburuzabala
Doctor in Education from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). Her education ,training and work experience have been developed mainly in Spain and in New York, where she worked as a bilingual therapist, education evaluator and researcher. From 1997 to 2008, she worked as an assistant professor of education at IE University in Segovia (Spain). She currently works as a professor in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Since 1989, she has participated as a principal investigator and coordinator of international projects related to teacher training, child and health education. Since 2008, she has oriented her research interests towards the fields of service-learning and education for social justice. Her work has been published in several books and scientific journals, both national and international.
She has been working on service-learning projects with university students since 2000. She is a member of the Spanish Service-Learning Network, the Service-Learning Network of Higher Education, ApS (U). Coordinates the Madrid Network for the Promotion of Service-Learning. On this subject, she has lectured, published, coordinated a monographic number of RIEJS and organized national conferences.
