Almost two years after the death of the respected Turkish scholar, two UNESCO Chair members recall his career and legacy

Kadir Beycioglu was a scholar respected and admired for the high quality of his writings and research, who strived to improve the conditions of children and youth in and out of educational settings to create a more just school environment. The article highlights Kadir’s important contribution in the area of school leadership for social justice and identifies the main theoretical and empirical elements of this area of research and practice to which Kadir devoted much of his personal and academic life. It also charts the outlook for social justice education in the coming years, linking this to the growth of collaborative networks, of which Kadir was also a part both in his home country and globally.
