The "Dictionary of Contemporary Female Spanish Thinkers XIX and XX centuries", book coordinated by Marta Nogueroles and Juana Sánchez-Gey, is now available

Marta Nogueroles, member of the research and teaching team of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice of the Autonomous University of Madrid, and Juana Sánchez-Gey have coordinated the “Dictionary of Contemporary Female Spanish Thinkers XIX and XX centuries“, a work that has the prologue of the renowned philosopher Adela Cortina.

In an attempt to respond to the growing interest aroused by feminist movements, this work tries to shed some light on the work of those Spanish female thinkers who were made invisible by the construction of a biased androcentric history of thought. The coordinators are aware that they are not all included in this dictionary. However, this book could be seen as the basis for future works that include more information about more women who contributed innovative, creative and sensitive reflections to the social context of the moment they had to live.
