The Chair will participate in the "III UAM-A2030 Awareness Day. Reflections on migration and refuge" on March 25

The Autonomous University of Madrid continues with the process of implementing the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and once again invites the university community and all those interested in knowing the new global development pact, to participate in the III UAM Awareness Day-A2030. Reflections on Migration and Refuge to be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in the Conference Room – Module 0 of the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This III Conference aims to present the progress of the UAM Plan – 2030 Agenda during the year 2019 and raise awareness among the university community about the impact of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on issues such as migration and refuge. The Conference will feature the participation of specialists in migration and refuge issues and key people in the University in the transmission of the A2030 Objectives and Goals. Along these lines, F. Javier Murillo will participate as Director of the UNESCO Chair on Education for Social Justice in the discussion panel “UNESCO UAM Chairs. The role of the academy in the face of the humanitarian crisis“, together with the respective addresses of the UNESCO Chair of Culture of Peace and Human Rights and the UNESCO Chair in Gender Policies and Equal Rights between Men and Women. The conversation is scheduled from 11.45 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

In addition, throughout the month of March, the exhibition of Graphic Humor “Uni + ONU = One. Universities for Sustainable Development” will be exhibited in the hall of the Faculty of Sciences, which includes 102 works by a total of 70 authors / as from different countries (Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Peru, Chile …) that, through graphic humor, seek to raise awareness about the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

Finally, during the Day, the III Edition of the International University Volunteer Program “SDG Mobility and Global Citizenship” will be launched, whose objective is to provide the opportunity for UAM students to travel for one or three months to countries in the south where they can learn about projects and programs linked to the A2030 and the SDGs.
