Silvana Mabel Corso will give a seminar on “Universal Design of Learning. A model of inclusion in the classroom ”on February 3 at the UAM

Silvana Mabel Corso, Director of the La Rumanía school in Buenos Aires and internationally recognised as a reference in topics related to inclusive education, will participate in the event “Universal Design of Learning (UDL). A model of inclusion in the classrooms ”. It should be noted that Silvana Mabel Corso was one of the finalists of the Global Teacher Prize 2017 of the Varkey Foundation, for her great commitment as a teacher with educational innovation and social transformation through education. In addition, she is a participant in Tedx Río de la Plata, a platform where she presented the following talk:

The UDL has become in the last ten years an indisputable practical theoretical reference to be able to implement in the classrooms the ambitious objective of an inclusive education for all. It is based on the principle for teachers to generate teaching and evaluation dynamics that are as diverse as the student diversity. Another of the basic principles underlying UDL is that teachers have to offer students opportunities to choose between different ways of communicating their learning, as well as a variety of learning activities to motivate them.

Therefore, the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice, together with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Autonomous University of Madrid, UPLA-LA UNIÓN, and Luz en la Finestra, have organised this event of such relevance for the debate within the framework of a necessary new educational policy.

The seminar will be held in Sala de Grados of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Autonomous University of Madrid. First, Silvana Mabel Corso will give a conference (10.00 a.m. to 11.45 a.m.) on the topic announced, which will be followed by a workshop (11.45 a.m. to 2.45 p.m.). Free entry until seating capacity is reached.
