February 20th: World Day of Social Justice
The General Assembly has decided to celebrate the World Day of Social Justice every 20 February beginning in 2009. By resolution 62/10 of November 26, 2007, the Assembly recognized that the attention of social development and social justice are indispensable for the achievement and maintenance of peace and security, and yet can not be served without peace, security and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
