F. Javier Murillo, Adrián Almazán and Cynthia Martínez Garrido publish a new article entitled "The choice of educational center in a school quasi-market system mediated by the bilingualism program"

The article “The choice of educational center in a school quasi-market system mediated by the bilingualism program” has recently been published in the Complutense Journal of Education. that the affiliation of the center to the bilingual program has radically altered the criteria for selecting the center by the families.

This interesting publication collects the results of an investigation in which F. Javier Murillo, Adrián Almazán and Cynthia Martínez Garrido, authors and members of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice, have delved into the reasons that drive families whose children and daughters study in public centers of the community of Madrid to choose one center or another, with special emphasis on the role that bilingual centers play within a school quasi-market system.

Through a qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews with representatives of Associations of Mothers and Parents of Students from public schools of Primary Education and Secondary Education, it is concluded that the affiliation of the center to the bilingual program has radically altered the selection criteria center by families.
