"Building socially just schools to transform the world" by F. Javier Murillo

F. Javier Murillo, UNESCO Chairholder in Education for Social Justice, is the author of the article published in the magazine «Ruta Maestra» entitled «Building socially just schools to transform the world». In it, he reviews the characteristics of the schools that fight for Social Justice being socially fairer.

The article gathers a first approach to the conception of Social Justice and how education can be a key piece in the promotion of fairer societies. Along these lines, the role of school culture, the development of fair teaching processes, democracy within schools and the school-home-community relationship, among other aspects, are discussed.
